Can somebody tell whether you are open?
These are the two things somebody checks in the last seconds before deciding to get in the car. Neither takes long to add, and both are missing far more often than you would expect — usually because the person who built the site did not have the hours to hand that day, and nobody went back.

What this means
Hours are one of the first things somebody checks before travelling or calling. Without them, a visitor who is unsure simply tries the next business.
How to fix it
- List your hours on the contact page and, if there is room, in the footer.
- Say which days you are closed rather than leaving them off the list.
- Note anything unusual — a lunch closure, seasonal hours, bank holidays.
On WordPress
- Add a text block or table to the contact page. A business-hours plugin is only worth it if you want the “open now” display.
If you are handing this to a developer
Also express them as openingHoursSpecification in the LocalBusiness JSON-LD so they can be read by software.
Check it worked. Open your contact or homepage as a stranger: you should be able to tell whether you are open on a Sunday.
No map or directions link

What this means
A link to your location on a maps service lets somebody get directions in one tap instead of copying your address into another app.
How to fix it
- Find your business on Google Maps, press Share, and copy the link.
- Add it to your contact page as a “Get directions” link.
- Embedding the map itself is optional — it is a heavy addition to the page, and a link does the same job faster.
On WordPress
- Add the link to your contact page as a button or text link. If you want an embedded map, use the Maps embed code rather than a plugin.
If you are handing this to a developer
A plain link beats an iframe here: an embedded map is a large third-party payload that will show up in your page speed score.
Check it worked. Open the contact page on a phone and tap the map or directions link: it should open a maps app with your location.
